Identity of Jesus Christ

Hebrew year 5778 The YEAR OF THE DOOR.

Hebrews 1:3 is like looking through a keyhole of Bright Light to see who Jesus really is.

Hebrews1:3 Jesus is the RADIANCE of GOD’S GLORY and the EXACT REPRESENTATION of HIS BEING (his fathers being), SUSTAINING ALL THINGS (this is the universe & all creation),by HIS POWERFUL WORD.
After he had provided PURIFICATION FOR SINS,He SAT DOWN at the RIGHT HAND of His Majesty in heaven.

RADIANCE OF GODS GLORY

The word RADIANCE is light or heat reflected by something. Glowing, warm, cheerful, exceptional brightness, luminous, incandescent, clarity, resplendent.
The RADIANCE is an illumination of GODS GLORY.
GLORY is a hard word to define when describing GODS GLORY.
Mans glory is more easily understood. The glory of excelling in a sport or talent.
The GLORY OF GOD is not earthly so unless you have seen or experienced it, the definition is hard to grasp.
I would define the Glory as the living presence of God himself.
Because God is so full of Life, Light and Goodness his presence reflects this.
Jesus is a full reflector of his Fathers Glory.

There are many passages about the GLORY.
Ex.24:17 To the Israelites the GLORY of the Lord looked like consuming fire on top of the mountain. (Mt.Sinai)
Ps.24:7 Lift up your heads, O you gates, be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of GLORY may come in.
Ps. 29:3 The voice of the Lord is over waters, the God of GLORY thunders, the Lord thunders over mighty waters.

I would suggest the best way to understand and visualize the GLORY OF GOD is to spend time in it. Then you know first hand what the GLORY really is.

JESUS THE EXACT REPRESENTATION

In Luke 1:26-38 is the story of the angel Gabriel sent to Mary an engaged woman. Mary was chosen by God to bear his son. She was highly favored and God was with her. Gabriel told her of the child she was to bear and his destiny to be great. He was to be given David’s throne and he was to be called Jesus. Mary was perplexed and did not know how this could happen as she was a virgin. Gabriel told her the HOLY SPIRIT would over shadow her with HIS POWER and In pregnant her. God would supernaturally put His DNA into Mary. Mary said Yes and said in Luke 1:37 For there is nothing that God cannot do.
This is how Jesus is an exact representation of his father. He has his DNA.

EXACT is: precise, identical, authentic, no deviation, perfect, certain
Strict accuracy, true flawless, exactness, on target, replica, absolute
Clean cut, sure, correct, genuine, dead on,undeniable, dead ringer,unquestionable
He is his father’s son.

JESUS SUSTAINS ALL THINGS WITH HIS POWERFUL WORD

John 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was GOD.
John 1:14 The WORD became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

From these verses we see the WORD of God Existed before time began.
When Mary gave birth to Jesus the WORD of God became a person.
It is easy to see why when the Son of God opens his mouth and speaks power goes out.
The WORD Of God is powerful and when it is released it always accomplishes its goal.

TO SUSTAIN is to strengthen, support, help, assist, carry, continuous on going,
Unbroken, never ending, bear the weight,support, carry, stand, endure, hold, maintain.

PS.55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will SUSTAIN you, he will never let the righteous fall.
Is.46:4 I am he, he who will SUSTAIN you.
PS.18:35 Your right hand SUSTAINS ME.
PS.147:6 The Lord SUSTAINS the humble.
Is50:4a The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the WORD that SUSTAINS the weary.
Creation is SUSTAINED by the WORDS GOD spoke long ago.
WE are SUSTAINED as we pursue Jesus with all of our heart and walk in fellowship with him.

PURIFICATION FOR SINS

Jesus the true Passover Lamb was the greatest gift the Father could have bestowed on mankind. The Hebrew’s sprinkled lambs blood on their door posts and the death angel passed over them. So it is with the blood of Jesus we are delivered from certain death into life. This is so simple but yet profound. When we believe in our heart and speak with our mouth Jesus died for us and takes our sins and has risen from the grave We ARE SAVED! Romans 10:9
After offering himself up on our behalf for our eternal life, Jesus was told my his Father to sit down at the RIGHT HAND OF HIS MAJESTY in heaven.

Col. 3:1b Where Christ is seated at the Right Hand of God.
Hebrews 1 :3b He sat down at the Right HAND of HIS MAJESTY in heaven.
Romans 8:34b Jesus who was raised to life is at the RIGHT HAND OF GOD and is also interceding for us.
Ps.110:1 The Lord says to my Lord; Sit at my RIGHT HAND until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.

Jesus is seated at His Fathers RIGHT HAND in GLORY.

The identity of Jesus that is revealed in Heb.1:3:

A Son that is shining in Brilliant Glory, the exact Representation of his Father.
He SUSTAINS life and all creation by his POWERFUL WORD.
He is the Word.
He is our Deliverer and Redeemer.
He is seated in heaven next to his dad.

It’s amazing one verse can reveal so much of who Jesus is and what he has done for us.
I love looking at Jesus and marveling at who He is and what He has done to give us Life.
