Simon Peter then, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear; and the slave’s name was Malchus. John 18:10
The slave’s name was Malchus. Can you imagine if you were him? He’s standing there minding his own business and next thing he knows his ear is cut off. Whoa, where did that come from? And then this Jesus touches his ear and he’s healed.
Did that just happen? I can hear his heart saying “Who is this man?”
And then there is Jesus, He knows what’s about to happen to Him, and He stops to care for this man who’s ear was cut off. A slave; who cares?
Jesus, that’s Who!!!
And this Malchus has his name written in the eternal Word of God.
God cares for those others don’t give a thought to.
Jesus is so amazingly kind. Isn’t He? Kindness, selflessness. I just LOVE HIM!
